Final Concerts – Tomorrow

Our final concert of the year is tomorrow night.  As you have seen on the calendar, we have 2 concerts tomorrow night.
One begins at 6:00PM and the other begins at 8:00PM.  The choirs that will be performing on the first concert, and in this order are: Southernaires, Noteworthy, AcaFellas, Bella Voce, Statesmen,  Chanteuse, and Camerata. Call time for students performing on the first concert is 5:00PM.
The 8:00PM concert will feature Chamber Women, Chamber Men, Collegium, and Symphonic Choir, scholarship announcements, and the honoring of our senior class.  Call time for students performing on the second concert is 7:00.
If you are planning to attend both performances, please only pay one time.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night. Thank you for your support and care!

Jazz Auction Next Week! Get Your Tickets!

This year’s Jazz Auction is NEXT WEEK and being held on Thursday, April 26, at the Mission Mill Spinning Room.  Doors will open at 6:00PM.

This year, we will be offering hors d’oeuvres, dessert, and pouring adult beverages for people 21 and older.  One beverage will be included with each ticket and you will be able to purchase additional beverages at the event.

District Choir Festival Day Schedule – 4/10

On Tuesday, April 10, the Chamber Men’s, Chamber Women’s, and Symphonic Choirs will represent South Salem HS at the Greater Valley League Choral Festival. This is our District Choir Contest and it is held in Rice Auditorium on the campus of Western Oregon University.  Below you will find an estimated schedule with detailed information about the days happenings.  This schedule is subject to change due to district transportation altering our arrival and departure times.  If they get updated, we will notify students and parents ASAP.  Please come out and support our South singers!

District Solo and Ensemble Contest Results

Congratulations to all of our 30+ South students that participated in the OMEA District 4 Vocal/Instrumental Solo and Ensemble Contest.  We are so proud of your growth and commitment to your individual performance.  Score sheets can be picked up from your voice teacher. Below you will find the results for students that placed and/or will be representing South at the OSAA State Solo Contest on April 28 at Pacific University.

Bella Voce and Statesmen sing at SKPS Intermediate Choral Festival on 3/6

This is a reminder that next week our freshmen choirs, Bella Voce and Statesmen, will be representing South at the Salem-Keizer Intermediate Choral Festival on Tuesday, 3/6 at West Salem HS.  The concert will begin at 7:00PM and the call time to meet in the lobby of the West Salem HS Auditorium is 6:00PM.

Students are to come dressed for this performance.  Below, you will find a reminder of the concert dress for Bella Voce and Statesmen.

Bella Voce – Blue and white robe (provided), dresses should be worn under robes, and are not to exceed the length of the robe, black dress shoes (close toed and flat)

Statesmen – Royal blue bowtie (provided), lay collar white dress shirt, black dress pants, black socks, and black dress shoes.
