Welcome the 2018-2019 School Year! (First Day Info, Voice Lesson Packet, and more)

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! We couldn’t be more excited to get started with you!  Below you will find an assignment and vital information!

New Music Student Assignment –  If you are new to the Music Program at South, please fill out this form with a parent/guardian by Friday, September 8.  Link to Form: Information Form This information is for our communication and record keeping systems we use in the South Music Program.

Choir Handbook/Syllabus – We have a Choir Handbook that students need to review with a parent.  This includes information on uniforms, classroom expectations, and forms that must be turned in by September 20.  The forms can be found at the end of the handbook.  Link to the handbook: Choir Handbook  Link to the handbook forms only: Choir Handbook Forms Only

Remind – We use the Remind App to Contact Students and parents about daily happenings/announcements that need to be made.  Students and parents will get these via text message or the Remind App (app not required to receive information).  Each class has a specific code.  Link to the instructions for sign up and Remind Codes: Remind Codes

In Class Voice Lessons – We have a number of highly qualified private voice teachers that teach private lessons during our classes at South.  These are not required but are highly encouraged of all singers in our program.  Space is limited and students are assigned with a teacher on a first come first serve basis.  Students will not be assigned unless a form has been turned in.  These forms can be turned in to Ms. Hernandez via email or in class. Teacher Contact Information – We are fortunate enough to have two Choir Directors at South Salem who work with our wonderful students.  With these unique set up, each class will have a lead teacher and an assisting teacher.  The names that you will see on your schedules are Ms. Jenna Hernandez (hernandez_jenna@salkeiz.k12.or.us) and Mr. Will McLean (mclean_william@salkeiz.k12.or.us).  Please contact by email or you can reach us by phone at (503) 399-3252.
