Jazz Night Fundraiser May 23rd

The Spring Jazz Night Auction Fundraiser is right around the corner.  If you haven’t already purchased your tickets please do so!  They are available to purchase online at  or by filling out an order form and sending it to the school.  We are excited to have several of our Level Tables already sold!  If you are interested in reserving one of these tables please do so ASAP, as there are a limited number remaining.

Another way that you can support this event is by donating an item and/or service to be a part of the silent or oral auction portion of the evening.  We are also in need of items to fill our themed baskets.  We have several themes selected for these baskets.  They include: music, gardening, arts & crafts, sports, family fun night, coffee & dessert, pets, and parents’ night out.  All donations are welcome!  Even if it doesn’t fit a theme, we would love to have your NEW items for the auction.  Please drop them off in the choir room or send them with your student.  In addition if you have an empty basket or bin you would like to donate we would be happy to fill it up with amazing items!

Please contact Molly Brittan at or 503-881-2280 if you have questions or need an item to be picked up. Thank you for considering a donation to our auction. Your sponsorship or donation will enrich the lives of South Salem High School musicians.

Announcing our Spring Jazz Auction

On May 23, South Salem Choir will be holding our first ever Jazz Night Auction Fundraiser, in the Mission Mill Spinning Room.  This event will feature the Southernaires in solo and ensemble performances in tandem with silent and live auctions. This fundraising effort will be put towards the entire choral program to assist with equipment, lessons, uniforms, travel, and many more student opportunities.

Doors will open at 6:00PM with our first phase of the silent auction ending at 6:50 and music beginning at 7:00PM.  Tickets will be pre-sold and made available at the door for $10/adult and $5/student and seniors.  Included in your ticket is a seat at a table, dessert provided by Willamette Valley Pie Company, Coffee, the performances, and the ability to participate in the auctions.  Tickets are limited, so, pre-sale tickets will go on sale soon and information will be sent to you about it.

For this event we are asking for table sponsors and/or donated items to be included in the auction process.  If you are interested in donating an item or being a table sponsor, please read THIS DOCUMENT that outlines the benefits of being a sponsor and how to donate.  No donation is too big or too small!  While this event is put on by the Music Boosters, donated items do not need to be music related (ex. tickets to sporting events, AirBnB stays, legal services, etc).

Additionally, we will be making an ask of student and parent volunteers to help our event run smoothly.  As this will benefit the entire program, we will be reaching out to all parents and students who can lend their talents to make this a special night.

We hope that you will consider supporting the South Choirs by attending this performance and consider table sponsoring and donating.

Fall Concert – Thursday, 10/20

Our Fall Concert is upon us!   This Thursday, October 20th at 7:30PM all of the choirs at South will be performing their first concert of the year.  All students are to report to their assigned room for check in dressed and ready for the concert at 6:30PM (Southernaires call is 6:00PM) .  Students are expected to be present for the entire concert as it is part of their concert exam grade and will contribute to their analysis and reflection assignment that they will have in class.

The concert cost is $3 a ticket or 2 for $5.  Parents and audience members are encouraged to arrive early as we are expecting a large audience on Wednesday.  Doors will open to the general public at 7:00PM and at 6:50PM for Gold Card Members (if you are interested, these will be on sale at the concert).  While we will make announcements from the stage, please know that we will not allow any entrance or exit while a group is performing.  It is a major distraction for our students and audience members when there is excess noise, movement, and action while there are groups on stage.  All of our ensembles have worked so very hard to put this concert on and deserve to have a great audience and concert experience.  So, please help us build that for them!

In the South Music Department we have a system that we use for communication, data entry/collection, financial bookkeeping and much more.  This system is called CHARMS Office.  Through CHARMS, you can keep up to date with contact information, financial records, communicate with directors, and access materials posted by directors and the booster club.  This program enhances our communication and effectiveness as an entire organization.  Below you will find instructions as how to log in.  Please know that financial information is currently being uploaded into the system and may not be accurate.
1) Go to on your computer, mobile device, or tablet (or click the  “CHARMS” menu at
2) Click “Enter/Login” in the upper right-hand corner

Each student in the South Salem Music Program has been assigned a log in and password
If you have trouble logging in, please contact Mr. McLean at
