Fall Concert – Thursday, 10/20

Our Fall Concert is upon us!   This Thursday, October 20th at 7:30PM all of the choirs at South will be performing their first concert of the year.  All students are to report to their assigned room for check in dressed and ready for the concert at 6:30PM (Southernaires call is 6:00PM) .  Students are expected to be present for the entire concert as it is part of their concert exam grade and will contribute to their analysis and reflection assignment that they will have in class.

The concert cost is $3 a ticket or 2 for $5.  Parents and audience members are encouraged to arrive early as we are expecting a large audience on Wednesday.  Doors will open to the general public at 7:00PM and at 6:50PM for Gold Card Members (if you are interested, these will be on sale at the concert).  While we will make announcements from the stage, please know that we will not allow any entrance or exit while a group is performing.  It is a major distraction for our students and audience members when there is excess noise, movement, and action while there are groups on stage.  All of our ensembles have worked so very hard to put this concert on and deserve to have a great audience and concert experience.  So, please help us build that for them!

CHARMS

In the South Music Department we have a system that we use for communication, data entry/collection, financial bookkeeping and much more.  This system is called CHARMS Office.  Through CHARMS, you can keep up to date with contact information, financial records, communicate with directors, and access materials posted by directors and the booster club.  This program enhances our communication and effectiveness as an entire organization.  Below you will find instructions as how to log in.  Please know that financial information is currently being uploaded into the system and may not be accurate.
 
Log in – 
1) Go to http://www.charmsoffice.com on your computer, mobile device, or tablet (or click the  “CHARMS” menu athttp://www.southsalemchoir.com).
2) Click “Enter/Login” in the upper right-hand corner
3) It will prompt you for your school code.  Our school code is “southsalemmusic” and click “Enter Charms”
4) It will then ask for your “Student Area Password.”  The password was originally set as the student’s 6-digit ID code provided by the school district.  Most students/parents have changed the password
5) Your log in is complete, please update contact information.

Pie Sale Begins Today!

The South Music Department has opened our annual Pie Sale with the Willamette Valley Pie Company!  This has been a hugely successful sale in the past and we know that you enjoy it, too!  This is a great way for our students to raise funds into their student account for things like fair-share charges, trips, private lessons, and many other things. The sale starts today, October 3rd and runs until October 26th.   Pies will be delivered on Wednesday, November 16th.   There you will find pricing information, additional order forms, and details on each product and by following the link below (this document will be posted in Charms).  We have consistently been the number one seller of pies in the state of Oregon, so let’s keep the tradition of excellence going!  If you have more questions, please email mclean_william@salkeiz.k12.or.us
